workout #2

We worked out again today. It really did feel good to workout , we did 10 min treadmill , 10 min cross trainer , 10 min bike then we did2 set bicep curls with the balance ball you stand on and we did 2 other arm exercises with the stretch band , then abdominal crunches 1 with a bar and one without on the ball . I am sure I will eventually get to know what each is called . we did all the upper body exercises 2  times. next week we will get there early each day so we can do our cardio 40 min before Erica gets there that way we will get a full hour of training. She knows about my knee so she will have me do some different exercises with the machines and weights next week. I am still stretching my leg muscles so that the tightness can get better and the pain will go away in my left leg.  I am also going to start to eat breakfast and change some of my diet to help with weight loss. So if anyone has suggestions let me know.This is all new to me blogging and exercise, but I will learn . I will hopefully take pictures of us and will post them next time.

Health

 Well my left quad is killing me it's still very tight from my workout. I have been stretching it but it's still sore. I saw the ortho Dr , he said to let the trainer know about my left knee ( torn meniscus so I don't cause more damage . He said to strengthen the other muscles in my leg and it would help my knee. He said to watch squats which is what we did a lot of because of causing more damage and pain. I also had a stress Echo today because of an abnormal EKG .My Echo and stress test were fine in fact It looked better under exercise . So now I know I am healthy so can really get my heart rate up and get a good work out in and not worry about my heart. The Dr said with more exercise and weight loss, my heart will get stronger and less chances of a heart attack. So I will be working out tomorrow and again Sat. I am changing my diet slowly more veggies less sugar and bad carbs. I will start eating 3 meals and 2 snacks a day .I know Jen wants me to change alot more, but I need to do it slowly so I can learn what I am doing. Jen and Matt look absolutely fantastic ! I need to get healthy and with that I will lose weight but I need to do it my way and hopefully I can stick to this plan. Well that's all for now .

First Day Of Exercise

Well just got home from my first workout. I did tell her to kick my butt and she did. We did a 10 min warm up on the treadmill ,then squats with the ball behind us and we used a bar then used weights ,then back to treadmill and did 5 min at 3.0 , then 5 min with 5% incline, then incline 0 and increased speed to 3.5 then back to squats and finished with sit ups (2) sets on the ball. We came home stretched and I had a dish of broccoli salad . tomorrow morning i plan on going to do the treadmill for 40 min. Then we see the trainer again on Thursday . I know some of you might think that was nothing but for my husband and i it was nice but still challenging.

Well today was great we went to Buffalo to see New England Patriots play Buffallo. It was 19 degrees but we stayed warm. I had about 4 layers on plus hand foot and btt warmers. Thats right I heard if you put one hand warmer in each of your back pockets it helps keep you warm . It did work and Jacob stayed warm until the last quarter then I cuddled him and wrapped a blanket around him. Jacob is my youngest son 9 yrs and we adopted him at age 3 .but we have had him since 10 days so he is our son. Dave my husband is a new England fan since he was little he grew up in Boston and Jacob is getting into football now so it's fun. We won 34-3 so now on to play offs and the Super Bowl. Well this blog is about gittin fit so we start back at the gym with our trainer on Monday I am very excited as it's been a long time since we have been there , about 10 months to be exact and I sure feel and look it. So I start this journey for me . I want to be able to play and have fun not only with Jacob but my 2 1/2 grandchilren . That all but I will get back and let you know how my first workout went , I did tell her to kick my butt.
